BOTOX® Cosmetic Facial Line Correction
Botulinum toxin or BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used to make a dramatic improvement in the lines of expression we see on our foreheads, between our eyebrows and around our eyes. It can improve the appearance of an angry or unhappy look caused by these furrows. With a simple injection, no down time, no healing time and no scars, what are often called "frown" lines can be eliminated.
Very small doses of the toxin can be injected directly into the specific muscles which cause the unwanted lines of expression. This causes only those muscles to become paralyzed. Following the injection, it can take from three to fourteen days to achieve the maximal results. The paralysis lasts from two to five months. To maintain the effects, the injections must be repeated. Occasionally, Dr. Stein uses BOTOX® Cosmetic injections in combination with surgical procedures such as Endoscopic Forehead Lifts or Laser Skin Resurfacing to further enhance the results.
