This attractive 16-year-old female came in to see me for an otoplasty (ear surgery) consultation. She expressed that she has been extremely unhappy with the appearance of her protruding ears. This had even caused some low-esteem issues for her. On examination, I found that she did have protruding ears, with the right side slightly more prominent. I recommended otoplasty surgery. The video imaging computer was used to illustrate the changes which might be achieved. I saw this young lady at her follow-up visit with me and she reported a marked improvement in her self-confidence. I was pleased with the results.
