Procedure & Recovery
Chin implant surgery takes 15 minutes to complete and is performed on an outpatient basis under IV sedation or local anesthesia. With chin surgery, Dr. Stein makes a small incision under the chin and inserts the implant over the front of the jawbone.
Recovery from chin implant surgery typically lasts from four to seven days. During that time, it is normal to experience some swelling, redness or mild discomfort. Although you may feel great, it’s important to refrain from any activity that could bump your implants out of place, at least for a few weeks.
