How Does Closed Rhinoplasty Work?
A closed (or internal) rhinoplasty is done on an outpatient basis under IV sedation. All incisions are made within the inside of the nostrils allowing for no visible scarring. As a board-certified surgeon, Dr. Stein works to meticulously reshape the nostrils, tip, and bridge of your nose for a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Closed rhinoplasties require much more surgical skill than traditional open methods. This procedure can take anywhere from 1.5-3 hours to achieve an optimal outcome for your specific goals. After a short observation period, you’ll be able to recover in the comfort of your own home.
Am I a Good Candidate For Closed Rhinoplasty?
Dr. Stein typically prefers the closed method for rhinoplasties when a patient only requires minimal correction. The procedure allows for significant improvement with very little pain, side effects, or downtime. Rhinoplasty can be an effective treatment option for both adolescents and adults. Non-smokers who are in otherwise good general health are the best candidates for surgical procedures of all types.

What Results Will I See?
Many patients are happy with the results of their closed rhinoplasty immediately. You’ll generally see gradual improvement throughout the coming weeks and months. Full results from your surgery may not be present for up to 1-year as your nose ‘settles’ into its new position. Rhinoplasty is typically a one-time procedure that offers lifelong results for the right patient.
