As we age, our bodies and facial features naturally change. Many people notice their eyebrows slowly descend lower on the face as they grow older. The drooping eyebrows can cause you to appear consistently angry. Brow lifts adjust the position of the muscles and tissue to restore your youthful expressions.

What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift, or eyebrow lift, is a surgical procedure to correct a downward shifting eyebrow by removing the excess skin and tightening the underlying muscles. If needed, Dr. Stein may also readjust the position of the eyebrow itself.

Dr. Stein uses the endoscopic technique, involving tiny incisions along the hairline, for less swelling, faster healing, and minimal scarring. Anchoring sutures hold the muscles in their new position for a brightened and refreshed appearance.

What Do Drooping Eyebrows Look Like?

Those struggling with a sagging eyebrow may notice themselves looking angry or tired when they are not. Beyond a drooping eyebrow, you may see horizontal lines along the forehead. To improve your vision and brighten your appearance, your facial muscles automatically compensate for lifting the eyebrows, causing near-permanent horizontal lines on your forehead, wrinkles between the eyebrows, and crinkles around the eyes.

What is the Difference Between Blepharoplasty and a Brow Lift?

Blepharoplasty (eyelid lift) and brow lifts are often combined for the most optimal rejuvenation results. The difference is the focus of the surgeries.

A brow lift does not remove excess skin on the eyelids but readjusts the muscles and tissue around the eyebrows. Blepharoplasty, or eyelid lifts, removes excess skin and fat from the eyelids to lessen the exhausted appearance of the eyes. Eyelid lifts may also improve your vision if the sagging skin blocks your sight.

Am I a Good Candidate for an Eyebrow Lift?

If you struggle with any of the concerns listed above, you may be a candidate for a brow lift. The best candidates for an eyebrow lift are physically healthy and do not smoke.

Dr. Stein listens to his patients intently as they explain their concerns and aesthetic goals. He does not rush through your appointment, as your thoughts, ideas, and feelings are the most crucial part of the process. If you have any questions, please voice them to Dr. Stein during your consultation.

How Long is Recovery from a Brow Lift?

Initial recovery may take between 10 and 14 days, depending on the extent of your procedure. Most can return to non-strenuous work within ten days, but exercise and other activities may need to wait up to three weeks.

Most patients see their final results two to three months after all residual swelling subsides, but improvement is immediately noticeable.

Dr. Stein provided excellent outcomes. The resulted look natural and are consistent with what was explained before the surgery. I recommend Dr. Stein to everyone.
