Dr. Stein makes a small incision in the crease under your chin and inserts the silicone implant, which rests against the jawbone. Once in place and healed, the implant is secure in this position.
How Long Does Chin Augmentation Take to Heal?
You can have a friend or family member take you home after your chin augmentation. You will experience some swelling and soreness in the area, especially for the first few days. You will typically feel more comfortable eating soft foods for the first several days. Most people return to work and light activities after four to seven days. You can expect to be completely healed after about two weeks.
