Sculpted cheekbones and a strong chin have long been considered ideal physical traits and are among the first features we notice in others. For many men and women, facial implants can create a more striking appearance by bringing the chin, cheek, and lips into greater harmony with the face. In Raleigh, chin and cheek implant surgery is performed by Dr. Adam Stein, a facial plastic surgeon known for his skill and aesthetic sensibility.
*What Facial Implants Can Do for You
Facial implants are used in a variety of ways to enhance overall appearance. For patients in Raleigh, cheek implant surgery can create more prominent cheekbones or fill in areas of the cheek that lose volume as we age. Chin implants are commonly used to improve a patient’s weak or under-projected chin. And, soft tissue implants can be used to increase fullness in the lips and to fill in sunken areas of the lower face including grooves between the chin and jaw and between the nose and corner of the mouth.

*Procedure & Recovery
Facial implant surgery takes 30 to 60 minutes to complete and is performed on an outpatient basis under IV sedation or local anesthesia. With chin surgery, Dr. Stein makes a small incision under the chin and inserts the implant over the front of the jawbone. With cheek surgery, he makes the incision inside your mouth under the upper lip.
Recovery from chin and cheek implant surgery typically lasts from four to seven days. During that time, it is normal to experience some swelling, redness or mild discomfort. Although you may feel great, it’s important to refrain from any activity that could bump your implants out of place, at least for a few weeks. Recovery from soft tissue implants for the lips and lower face is swift and relatively pain-free.
