Laser skin resurfacing can be a great skin rejuvenation treatment option for those on a busy schedule. The skin can be restored to its original youthful appearance with laser skin resurfacing. Many patients do wonder, how long does laser resurfacing last?

What is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Some skin rejuvenation procedures can require surgery. Laser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical alternative that uses laser technology to boost collagen production. Dr. Stein uses the Erbium Sciton Laser, an ablative laser part of the MicroLaserPeel® system, which removes the thin, outermost layer of the skin, otherwise known as the epidermis.

How Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Work?

Because laser skin resurfacing removes the epidermis, there is an increase in the production of collagen cells. These collagen cells help repair the skin from within, helping fine lines, sun damage, and acne scarring disappear. The skin will appear to be smoother and firmer.

How Long Does Laser Skin Resurfacing Last?

How long laser skin resurfacing lasts can depend on how you take care of your skin. Many patients see results last for years afterward.

Taking care of your skin after laser skin resurfacing is critical in maintaining your results. Sun damage can harm the skin and reverse the results. Dr. Stein will discuss how to take the best care of your skin after the procedure.

What is Recovery From Laser Skin Resurfacing Like?

Because Dr. Stein uses the MicroLaserPeel® to perform laser skin resurfacing, recovery from the MicroLaserPeel® is different from other laser skin resurfacing techniques. There are only 3 to 4 days of recovery with MicroLaserPeel® compared to other laser skin resurfacing techniques. Several of Dr. Stein’s patients have the MicroLaserPeel® on a Thursday or Friday and recover over the weekend.

The redness fades over that weekend and, by day 4, can be camouflaged with makeup. While you will notice your results immediately after, full results develop over six months.

Dr. Stein provided excellent outcomes. The resulted look natural and are consistent with what was explained before the surgery. I recommend Dr. Stein to everyone.
