Revision rhinoplasty corrects undesirable effects from past procedures. While many doctors offer to provide rhinoplasty (nose surgery), not all doctors have the experience of a plastic surgeon who performs these procedures with expertise and skill.

Dr. Stein not only has the experience and skill to provide great rhinoplasty results, but he can also correct the results of previous procedures with excellent results. While patients must have reasonable expectations for revision rhinoplasty, most of them find Dr. Stein’s work exceeds their expectations.

What is a Revision Rhinoplasty?

For some people, rhinoplasty does not provide the desired results. For whatever reason, and not always the fault of the previous surgeon, the person wants correction to bring the results closer to what they wanted with the original procedure or restore a problem created by the surgery.

How Long Should You Wait Before Revision Rhinoplasty?

While you must wait at least six months after your original rhinoplasty for the swelling to go down, Dr. Stein recommends that you wait one year from the surgery to make sure healing has been completed and all results have established themselves.

How Does Revision Rhinoplasty Work?

Revision rhinoplasty requires skill on the part of the surgeon, who often must work around scar tissue and other results of previous procedures. Dr. Stein excels in this and can even restore noses that may seem impossible to correct. However, because of many challenging factors, no one can guarantee that revision rhinoplasty will give the desired results.

Because previous procedures may have shaped and removed cartilage in the nose, Dr. Stein may remove cartilage from an area like the ear or rib to assist in rebuilding. Each surgery will proceed differently as the differences in each individual nose demand.

How Long is Recovery from Revision Rhinoplasty?

Most people can return to their usual activities in about a week, although most people need two weeks to feel comfortable with the swelling and bruising that occur after rhinoplasty.

Patients should understand that a revision rhinoplasty must repair the work of previous surgeons and that the surgeon may not be able to achieve the results one had initially  hoped for. However, Dr. Stein often creates new noses that people can be happy with following a botched surgery.

What are the Benefits of Revision Rhinoplasty?

Revision rhinoplasty offers many benefits.

  • Improved breathing if a deviated septum needs corrected
  • Greater satisfaction with procedure results
  • Improved self-confidence
  • Results more suited to the rest of the face
  • Closer results to your overall goals

Revision rhinoplasty can get you closer to the goals you have for your nose. However, increased risks occur with each procedure on the nose, so only trust your revision rhinoplasty to a professional plastic surgeon experienced in these procedures

“I was referred to Dr Stine by an anesthetist and I’m so happy with the process and results. Dr. Stine was so responsive and supportive post op answering if this or that was normal. I feel the results are natural and becoming.” *
